Stay tuned to this site, as I update existing essays, and add new ones regularly.

About 10 years ago I developed a condition called Insulin Resistance (IR), or pre-diabetes.  Determined to restore my body to health, I started keeping a journal of notes as I perused articles of interest.

I have always had a great interest in science, especially medical science, and so try to keep up with what’s happening in this field.  Over the years, my interest has shifted from allopathic to holistic and naturopathic medicines, as I have become more and more disgruntled with allopathic medicine’s focus on making money, and on treating illness with manufactured drugs, and especially with the plethora of TV and magazine advertisements for prescription medicines.  This disgruntlement became a blog entry, which subsequently grew into this series of health essays.

My qualifications to write these articles:

  1. BA in Biology, BA in Chemistry (from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA);

  2. 4 years of post-graduate work in molecular  biology & quantum chemistry (at University of Oregon, Eugene, OR, and Portland State University, Portland, OR);

  3. Extensive self study;

  4. 7 years experience as a technical writer (at Qwest, a telephone company).

I’m now approaching 65 years on this planet, so it is time for me to start thinking about Medicare. Here’s a site that might help: How to Choose a Medicare Plan, and more (videos)
