Anti-Cancer Juices (as for a fast)

Beets at market

I’m watching Chris Wark’s Square One: Healing Cancer Coaching Program, a series of online videos (1). In episodes 3 and 4, he talks about the anti-cancer diet, and provides recipes for several different veggie and/or fruit juices. While I don’t (yet) have cancer, I’m always interested in learning about natural healing techniques. Also I do a juice fast at least twice a year (at the Wellness Education Center in Kalispell MT (2)) and would like to start making my own juices.

Anti-Cancer Juice Recipes:

Use only Organically-grown produce; however, Chris reminds us that if you can’t afford Organic, use conventional produce – it is better than none at all.

Square One Veggie Juice

This is Chris Wark’s own recipe; makes 64 oz for eight 8-oz servings to drink throughout the day.

  • 3 – 5 carrots
  • 1 – 2 stalks celery
  • ½ beetroot
  • 1 – 2 beet greens
  • 1 slice of ginger root, peeled
  • turmeric root, peeled, to taste
  • ¼ lemon or lime (including peel)
  • ½ apple, cored but not peeled
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled (or more, to taste)

Square One Green Lemonade

  • 1 Organic lemon, whole
  • 4 Organic Granny Smith apples, whole

Cut up the whole fruits (the seeds also contain anti-cancer nutrients, but can remove seeds if desired; always retain peel), then run through your juicer.

Gerson’s Carrot & Apple Juice

  • equal parts carrot and green apple
  • NOTE: 3 large carrots = 1 apple.

Gerson’s Greens Juice

  • ¼  –  ½ head romaine (any color)
  • 2 – 3 leaves escarole
  • 2 – 3 leaves beet greens
  • 5 – 6 leaves watercress
  • 2 – 3 leaves red cabbage
  • ¼ bell pepper (yellow or red)
  • 1 – 3 leaves chard
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored

Breuss Carrot-Beet Juice

  • 1 beatroot
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/2 potato
  • 1 radish
